Halloween Bang Bang!

I haven't written any posts in quite a while. Who has the time when people are shooting guns outside my window and stealing bikes? The situation is getting critical right outside my door. There's no time for blogging.

Just a couple weeks ago, the night before Halloween in fact, someone got shot in the head right outside my door. Who knows why? Maybe it's all the drug dealing. Either way, attempted homicide really puts you in the mood for trick or treating! I didn't bother putting out Halloween decorations because real blood was already on the sidewalk.

That's a lie, we still put up decorations. But we enjoyed Halloween at least 10% less.

DC is a tough place, but the most disturbing thing is that after eight years, I'm getting used to it.

Old People Are Funny Because Things Electronic Confuse Them

I sit next to a lovely middle aged woman at work named Carol. She came in this morning very conconcerned about her Ipod.

"Have you tried the reset trick I taught you?" I asked her.

"Yes, and it's still frozen," she said.

"Have you dropped it recently?"

"Never," she replied. I walked over to her cubicle and picked up the Ipod. I looked at the ipod for a minute, turned off the hold button and gave it back.

Old people make me laugh. And she's a very intelligent lawyer. How will she survive in five years when Google implants the internet in our brains?
